The program of the Roorkee Adventist College is based upon the educational philosophy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. “True education means more than the perusal of certain courses of study. It has to so with the whole being, with the whole period of existence possible to man. It is the harmonious development of the physical, the intellectual and the spiritual powers. It prepares the student for the joy of service in this world and for the higher joy of wider service in the world to come”. The institution is committed to “Educating for Eternity” by instilling in students:
The capacity for independent and creative thinking; A comprehensive and practical knowledge of all important fields of study; Good personal hygiene and nutritional diet; A Sense of culture and responsible citizenship; Appreciation for Adventist social and moral standards for a healthful lifestyle; and The desire to participate in God’s kingdom here on earth and in the world to come.
It aims to offer degrees recognized by a public university, as well as programs accredited by the Adventist Accreditation Association, thereby enabling students to pursue further degrees in any institution in the nation and/or abroad. Its curriculum will foster competent and productive minds that are equipped with the knowledge and savoir-faire necessary to pursue the academic and career goals of their choice, whether within the denomination or in the public sector. Its extra curriculum activities will enable students to develop sound intellectual, social, physical, moral and ethical standards for life. It will prepare students as future workers for denominational organizations and institution; throughout the Northern India Union and beyond. The institution will be evaluated as a center for disseminating the Gospel Message to the community at large and for educating its youth for eternity.
